Last year’s movie, Trails In Motion 10, consists of three films that were screened as part of the program:
Just You and A Pair of Shoes
This documentary tells the story of Canaan Vallejos and his background as a person of color in mountain sports, his FKT effort on Mt Williamson CA, and the incredible impact representation can make in one’s life. As the Grateful Dead once said, “What a long, strange trip it’s been…”. A film supported by Touchstone Climbing and Fitness.
Rebound
One summer evening in 2019, in the South of France, Boris Ghirardi’s left foot was severed in a motorcycle accident. After his convalescence, Boris rebounds thanks to sport. He who never really ran, at 47 years old, starts trail-running thanks to a blade designed to maximize grip on steep trails, challenging himself to a distance he’s never run before.
Running Out
A Bryan Hynes documentary following the story of ultra-runner Lucy Bartholomew as she runs the the 231km Larapinta Trail in the Northern Territory Australia. The film looks behind the curtain into the raw and upfront realities of ultra-running and the undertaking of a project on this scale. The film shines a light on going beyond limits, the value of community, and showcasing some of the most beautiful landscapes of central Australia.
