TALK TO FRANK
Runtime: 5 Minutes
Directed by: Matt Green
Produced by: Summit Fever Media
Language: English
Country of origin: United Kingdom
My name is Frank, and I’m a cocker spaniel from Manchester. My story began when I moved in with Maleek, my human. He wasn’t in a great place — having just finished a four-year sentence, he found himself transitioning from one prison to another: the COVID lockdown and a debilitating depression. I gave him no choice; he had to start walking me. One walk led to another, and soon we were running. Before he knew it, we were on our way up Pen Y Ghent, his first mountain.
The mountains are his spiritual home, he needs them just as much as I do. His ambition is to run in the Alps. To push his boundaries and tackle a route higher and further than he has ever been before. So that’s our plan. Together we are going to go to the Alps, we’re going to see the peaks, the ridges, the summits, and we’re going to heal together.

Despite the pain, Morgan draws strength from running, a therapeutic outlet that leads her to the 80K Quebec Mega Trail, where she forms a deep bond with other runners. Their shared love for the trails and authentic conversations help Morgan heal and reflect on her journey. Her story is a testament to the power of nature, community, and personal strength to overcome life’s obstacles.
LES SOMMETS LIBRES
Runtime: 32 Minutes
Directed by: Guillaume Coquard
Produced by: Kids Paris
Language: French with English subtitles
Country of origin: France
In “Les Sommets Libres”, Ulrich Ndjike, a youth worker and mountain enthusiast, invites young people from underprivileged neighborhoods to explore a world that feels completely foreign to them: the Alpine peaks.
For these youth, the idea of climbing a mountain is a challenge that seems as distant as Mont Blanc on the horizon. With the support of the Club Outdoor Alpin, Ulrich Ndjike encourages them to break social barriers, guides them through this adventure, pushes them to persevere despite their doubts, and offers them a unique experience of freedom, resilience, and self-transcendence.
“Les Sommets Libres” explores the profound impact one individual can have on their community, the power of passing on a passion, the bonds that are formed, and the personal transformation that outdoor sports bring to each of them.
